A Smarter, More Organized Recipe Page

At Galley, we’re always looking for ways to refine the user experience and make workflows smoother. That’s why we’re excited to introduce Recipe Header Improvements, a set of updates that enhance readability, organization, and functionality on the recipe page.

With these enhancements, users will find key recipe details more accessible, important actions more intuitive, and overall navigation clearer than ever.

What’s Changing?

We’ve made several key improvements to how information is displayed and structured in the recipe header:

🔹 Improved Layout for Clarity & Actionability

• Scale control is now in the top right corner to establish it as a primary action and clarify its relationship to recipe yield.

• Sellable & Component Picker has been reduced in size, freeing up page space for more important details.

📊 Enhanced Readability & Field Clarity

• Yield % is now explicitly labeled, improving its purpose and usability.

• External Name is more clearly defined, making it obvious whether it is manually set or inherited from the recipe name.

• Description is now positioned at the top, next to the External Name, and can be expanded or collapsed for a cleaner view.

• Field groupings keep related fields together, improving readability and ensuring they wrap together when the page size decreases.

🍽 More Context for Sales Pricing & Costing

• Serving Size and Servings Per Container are now visible in the recipe header, making it easier to set recipe sales prices per container.

• Cost Per Container is now displayed, in addition to total recipe cost, to provide better cost visibility when setting sales prices.

• Food Cost % is now explicitly labeled and can now be calculated using the recipe serving size and servings per container instead of just recipe yield, allowing for more accurate sales price calculations.

✅ More Streamlined HACCP Rules Placement

• HACCP Rules have been moved below the Procedure section, making the recipe header less cluttered while keeping food safety information accessible.

✅ More accurate and flexible food costing – Better visibility into serving-based pricing ensures precise food cost calculations.
